James C. Siebert
James C. Siebert is an experienced Elder Law Attorney and the principal attorney at the Law Office of James C. Siebert & Associates, P.C. and the Elder Law & Estate Planning Attorneys of Illinois, P.C. James opened his own law office in 1985. James is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation. Although board certification is not required by the Illinois Supreme Court in order to practice elder law, it evidences strong commitment to and expansive knowledge of elder law. James is one of only 12 Certified Elder Law Attorneys (also known as a “CELA”) in Illinois, having been certified by the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF). NELF’s CELA designation is the only American Bar Association approved designation for elder law. Paige N. Fox
Paige N. Fox is an Associate Attorney at the Law Office of James C. Siebert & Associates, P.C. and the Elder Law & Estate Planning Attorneys of Illinois, P.C. Paige attended law school at Chicago-Kent College of Law in downtown Chicago, where she not only earned her Juris Doctor degree and a Certificate in Public Interest Law. While at Chicago-Kent, Paige was an active mentor in Chicago-Kent’s Student Mentor Program, as well as a member of a variety of organizations including the Phi Alpha Delta professional legal fraternity, Society of Women in Law, the Child and Family Law Society, Chicago-Kent Sportfeasors, and First-In-Law Society. In addition, Paige was a member of the Dean’s List for multiple semesters and a recipient of the Dean’s Certificate of Service in recognition of her commitment to public service and over 200 hours of volunteer service she earned during her time at Chicago-Kent.
Prior to becoming an Associate at the Law Office of James C. Siebert & Associates, P.C. and the Elder Law & Estate Planning Attorneys of Illinois, P.C., Paige was a 711-licensed law clerk and then volunteer attorney for the Illinois Protection and Advocacy Commission, Equip for Equality. At Equip for Equality, Paige provided legal services to people with all types of disabilities, both mental and physical, and ranging in age from newborn babies to senior citizens. Much of Paige’s time at Equip for Equality was spent investigating the Office of the Inspector General’s reports of abuse and neglect and traveling to different mental health facilities, nursing homes, and hospitals to meet with clients and interview facility staff. Paige also gained experience in a variety of other areas of law by working on adult guardianship cases, employment discrimination cases based on disability, and death investigations. She also assisted individuals in obtaining and maintaining their civil rights by aiding homeless veterans in need and obtaining voting rights for individuals with disabilities. Read more
Courtney Todt Podkowa
Courtney Todt Podkowa is an Associate Attorney at the Law Office of James C. Siebert & Associates, P.C. and the Elder Law & Estate Planning Attorneys of Illinois, P.C. Courtney attended law school at De Paul University College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor degree as well as a Certificate in Business Law. She graduated cum laude and was in the top 20% of her law school class. While at De Paul, Courtney received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards (the highest grade in the class) in Legal Writing I, Legal Writing III and Legal Writing Transactions. In addition, Courtney was a Dean’s Merit Scholarship Recipient, Dean’s Certificate of Pro Bono Service Recipient, member of the Dean’s List for multiple semesters, and a Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law 1L Scholar and Fellow.
Prior to becoming an Associate at the Law Office of James C. Siebert & Associates, P.C. and the Elder Law & Estate Planning Attorneys of Illinois, P.C., Courtney was a law clerk at a well-known and highly respected Elder Law firm in downtown Chicago. While there, Courtney volunteered as a 711-licensed law clerk in a partnership with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and represented adult protective services agencies throughout Chicago in probate court hearings. Courtney also worked as a 711-licensed law clerk in the Cook County Public Guardian’s adult guardianship division and as a summer law clerk with the Public Guardian’s juvenile division. She also volunteered as a De Paul student with the Center for Disability and Elder Law. Read more
